Adobe Releases CS3

Complete with fake 2.0 packaging graphics and sexy reflections, Adobe unveils it new Creative Suite 3 series for pre-order sales. Allow me to be among the first to voice a complaint: a whopping 6 “editions” of application suites (Design Premium, Master Collection, Web Premium and Production Premium, Design Standard, Web Standard) and none of them are a good fit for our business. I guess we’re too unique to please ;).
Yet the thing everyone was worried about…the new bottom line, now that Adobe has a practical monopoly on our core business tools?
Not too bad, actually. Check it:
Design Premium (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Acrobat 8 Pro, other junk) : $1799 ($440 upgrade). Web Premium (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Contribute, Acrobat 8 Pro, other junk) : $1599 ($340 upgrade). Production Premium (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Soundbooth, Encore, other junk) : $1699 ($799 upgrade). No, this is not an ad for Adobe.
